Liberating Love

Love is more than just a feeling. It’s a choice, it’s an action, and a reflection of God’s very nature.
One of the greatest examples of real love can be found in John 3:16 NKJV “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”
And here’s the amazing thing—we can only love this way because God loved us first. Think about it: while we were still sinners, God showed His love by sending Jesus to die for us and by so doing He gives us eternal life.
THAT’S INCREDIBLE! WE DIDN’T DESERVE IT.
Jesus Himself said in John 13:34 NKJV “A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another.”
In a world that often feels cold and divided, understanding what real love looks like can change who we are and how we live. The Bible tells us that love isn’t about us at all—it’s about putting others first, being patient when we want to be angry, showing kindness even when it’s hard. Real love doesn’t keep track of wrongs or hold grudges. Love is always believing the best in people no matter what.
When we don’t feel like showing kindness, think about how patient God has been with us. When loving someone seems impossible, remember how God loves us even when we are sometimes unlovable.
Our love becomes proof of our faith. It’s not just nice words or good intentions. It’s action, It’s sacrifice, It’s choosing someone else’s good over our own. The truth is, we’ll fail at this sometimes. We’ll be impatient, unkind, or even selfish.
But that’s why God’s love is so powerful, it covers our failures and gives us strength to try again. His love living in us makes it possible to love in ways we never could on our own.
May this word bless you, as you reflect on God’s LIBERATING LOVE.
